The very famous Tokyo Game Show will transform into a digital event. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, many events have met a cancellation point, and TGS 2020 has become one of them. But, unlike others, TGS 2020 is planning to traverse into a digital show for this year.
The original show was scheduled to take place in September 24, but due to the circumstances caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak, it had to face a cancellation.
Nikkei Business Publications has released a short press note in which the following is stated:
Due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on a global scale and the situation remains unpredictable in Japan as well, the organizer and the co-organizers have reached this decision after a long consideration to place the utmost priority on the health and safety of visitors, exhibitors and stakeholders. We ask for your kind understanding and cooperation.
There’s no further evidence or dates of when the Digital Event will take place. All we have to do is wait for a future statement.
