A Forza Horizon 6 PC build that surfaced on May 10 is looking less like a Steam slip-up and more like a leak from someone who had early access to it. Playground Games said on X that the build was obtained before release and that this was not caused by a pre-load issue.
The studio also said it was taking strict enforcement action against anyone found accessing the build, including franchise-wide and hardware bans. That is a strong warning, and it makes clear the team is treating the leak as a serious breach rather than a minor mistake.
SteamDB added more context on X, saying the file list likely appeared after someone used its token dumper. SteamDB also said the leak itself probably came from someone with early access to the build, such as a reviewer or someone in a similar role. That lines up with the larger file dump chatter that was already spreading after a huge Forza Horizon 6 file leak started circulating on May 10.
Forza Horizon 6 was very likely leaked by someone with early access to the build (reviewer or similar).
At around the same time, the file list appeared on SteamDB because someone (could be someone else) used our token dumper. SteamDB does not display or share keys, nor can it… https://t.co/Pd40wmlzV2

Playground’s statement leaves Steam out of the picture. The leak now points toward someone outside the storefront, and Microsoft still plans to release Forza Horizon 6 on May 19.
