Supermassive Games Layoffs Have Reportedly Affected More Than 70 Staff
Former IT and Facilities Director Frank Tindle said he lost his job after 16 years at the studio.

Supermassive Games’ redundancy process has concluded, with more than 70 employees reportedly losing their jobs. The studio announced on August 11, 2026, that its consultation could result in up to 75 positions being cut.
The reported layoffs affected developers, artists, producers and members of senior leadership, spanning multiple parts of the studio rather than a single team.
Frank Tindle, Supermassive’s former IT and Facilities Director, said in a LinkedIn post that he was told his position was at risk several weeks before he was let go. Tindle had spent 16 years at the studio. Supermassive had more than 400 employees before the cuts.
When it began the consultation, Supermassive said the planned redundancies were intended to support the company’s sustainability and that it would prioritize support for affected employees. The latest reported total is more than 70, compared with the maximum of 75 positions outlined at the start of the process.
