Road to Vostok 0.2.3.0 Adds Nomad Trading and Shelter Visits

Saves from 0.2.2.0 remain compatible, while mods with AI or trading features may cause errors or bugs.

Road to Vostok’s 0.2.3.0 patch adds shelter encounters, trading, and tools for tracking Nomads. Those with good reputation can enter shelters, where Nomad Spots allow shelters to randomly spawn or hold 0 to 3 Nomads. Players can interact with them in shelters, during Gathering events, and in other non-combat states. Trading has a 0% tax.

Interactions still carry risk. AI can fire at both the player and the Nomad, and an interaction closes automatically if the Nomad enters combat. New tools track Nomads remaining and discovered, while interactions display each Nomad’s nickname, health, and background. Gathering size now depends on how many Nomads remain in Area 05, and a Gathering no longer prevents AI from spawning if all Nomads are killed.

Version 0.2.2.0 had postponed these Nomad additions to 0.2.3.0. The Steam announcement confirms that saves carry over from 0.2.2.0, though mods with AI or trading functionality may cause errors or bugs. The developer called this the third and final Build 2 patch. Most work now turns to Build 3’s quests and progression, with one more day next week available for a Build 2 hotfix if needed.

Other changes include a 25% decrease in cat vital consumption speed. Nomad Gatherings move from Day 35 to Day 20, Bogeyman Comes at Night moves from Day 25 to Day 35, and Outpost get compromised moves from Day 20 to Day 25. Fixes address AI corpses showing the generic name “Corpse,” blocked shots and AI sensors around Airfield Garage windows, runway-marking render issues in Compatibility mode, and constant Nomad reputation and stat calculations when the UI is closed.
