Pokémon HOME will add connectivity with the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen through version 4.1.0, which is scheduled to arrive in October 2026.
The two games launched on Nintendo Switch on February 27, 2026, as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Pokémon HOME support was not available at launch, but the upcoming update will let players transfer Pokémon from either game into HOME’s storage system.
FireRed and LeafGreen will offer a Celebi reward
Connecting either game to Pokémon HOME will also bring a special reward. Players who complete the Pokédex in FireRed or LeafGreen will receive Celebi in the mobile version of Pokémon HOME.
Unlike some other Pokémon HOME features, the reward will not require players to transfer a Pokémon from the game first. Once the connection is active, a Pokémon registered in FireRed or LeafGreen will automatically be registered in HOME.
Transfers will work in only one direction. Pokémon moved out of FireRed or LeafGreen cannot return to those games, and Pokémon already stored in HOME cannot be transferred into either title.
Pokémon HOME 4.1.0 will expand storage
The update will also raise the maximum storage limit for Premium Plan users from 6,000 Pokémon to 9,000. The Premium Plan’s price will remain unchanged.
Pokémon GO players will gain another HOME-related feature as well. Pokémon caught in a Safari Ball will be eligible for transfer into Pokémon HOME, where the ball will appear as a “Strange Ball.”
Pokémon HOME version 4.1.0 is scheduled for October 2026, although a more specific release date was not provided.
