Pokémon GO may be hiding a second Team Medallion after a player buys another one a year after the first purchase. Both items may remain on the account even though the inventory displays only one.
A reply attributed to Pokémon GO Support says the second purchase succeeded. It also says multiple Team Medallions may not be visible in the account at the same time, with another one waiting after the first is used.
If you purchase a Team Medallion, wait one year, and then purchase a second team medallion, the game glitches and will only show one in your inventory (even though you still have two).

That explanation suggests the second medallion may not be gone at all. The issue may instead be limited to how the inventory displays duplicate items. The support response does not explain why the extra medallion stays hidden, and the image does not establish whether every Trainer will see the same behavior.
What Pokémon GO players should know
The sequence involves buying one Team Medallion, waiting a year, purchasing a second, and then seeing only one in the inventory. The apparent support guidance points to the second item becoming available after the first is used, but that remains tied to this individual account rather than an independently confirmed game-wide issue.
Players who have made the same purchase should not assume the extra medallion was removed simply because it is not visible. More reports or testing will be needed to determine how often this inventory behavior occurs.
