Pokémon GO has officially announced Sandile Hatch Day for Saturday, October 17, 2026, putting the desert-dwelling Pokémon at the center of a dedicated event. The official Pokémon GO announcement is now available for Trainers.

Event artwork pairs Sandile with an Egg against a sandy outdoor backdrop. Pokémon GO’s 10th anniversary mark and Twilight Trails branding appear above the scene, tying the Hatch Day announcement to the game’s current season.
During the six-hour event, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Sandile will hatch more often from 2 km Eggs collected during the event, with an increased chance of finding its shiny form. PokéStops will also have an increased chance of providing 2 km Eggs.
Trainers will receive 2× Candy from hatching Eggs and half Hatch Distance. Those event bonuses will not stack with bonuses from other Pokémon GO events or GO Passes. Hatched Sandile can have CP values from 546 to 592, with 592 CP representing a 100% IV hatch.
Sandile evolves into Krokorok for 25 Candy, while Krokorok requires 100 Candy to evolve into Krookodile. That gives Trainers another reason to keep collecting Sandile even after finding a shiny or a strong individual Pokémon.
Free Timed Research offers an Incubator
Free event-exclusive Timed Research will be available during Sandile Hatch Day. Hatching an Egg will award 5,000 XP, while completing the stage will provide 1 Incubator.
Free research tasks must be completed and their rewards claimed by 5:00 p.m. local time on October 17, 2026. The deadline matches the end of the event, so Trainers should finish the research before the six-hour window closes.
Sandile Hatch Day ticket details
An optional event ticket priced at US$1.99, or the equivalent price in local currency, will add a one-quarter Egg Hatch Distance bonus during the event. That bonus will not stack with other event or GO Pass bonuses, and ticket availability may vary by region.
Paid Timed Research will ask Trainers to travel 1 km for a Star Piece, earn 2,000 Stardust for a Super Incubator, and earn 4,000 Stardust for 5,000 XP. Its stage rewards will include another Super Incubator, 5,000 XP, and 5,000 Stardust.
Paid research tasks and rewards must also be completed and claimed by 5:00 p.m. local time on October 17. Trainers planning to hatch throughout the event can collect 2 km Eggs and prepare their Incubators before the event begins, giving the distance bonuses more room to work.
