Phantom Blade Zero’s State of Play Plans Are Still Unclear as the August 11 Trailer Nears

S-GAME has not confirmed a cancellation, while an 11-minute pre-order trailer and PS Store pre-orders are scheduled for August 11, 2026.

Phantom Blade Zero‘s dedicated State of Play has not been confirmed as cancelled, but S-GAME still has not provided a date or further details for the broadcast. On August 7, S-GAME told Push Square that details for its future marketing plans, including the previously announced presentation, are still being finalized.

August 11 brings the next Phantom Blade Zero update

S-GAME will release an 11-minute pre-order trailer on August 11, 2026, when pre-orders are scheduled to open on the PS Store. Phantom Blade Zero is also still scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026.

S-GAME has said development is complete. The trailer’s 11-minute runtime has led some fans to wonder whether it will replace the planned State of Play, but the developer has not confirmed any connection between the two announcements.

The broadcast remains without a date

Sony first announced the dedicated presentation during its previous State of Play, describing it as a late-summer showcase for Phantom Blade Zero. With that window now underway, S-GAME’s latest comment leaves the broadcast’s timing open without announcing its cancellation.

The uncertainty comes as Sony faces backlash over its decision to stop manufacturing physical game discs. That issue has fueled questions about the broadcast, but S-GAME has not given it as a reason for the missing details.

For now, the August 11 trailer and PS Store pre-orders are the only dated items connected to the game’s upcoming marketing plans. The State of Play remains announced in principle, while its timing and final details are still unknown.
