PEAK’s PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2 Versions Launched October 22 With Crossplay

The console editions launched at 8 AM PT with Gloom, Mesa, and Roots updates, while the Xbox version supports Play Anywhere and the PS5 physical release includes a disc, BUDDY CODE, and a printed passport with stickers.

PEAK launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22. Crossplay is now live across those consoles and Steam, with groups of up to four able to climb together. The rollout began at 8 AM PT, as noted in the Steam announcement, and the PlayStation Blog announcement describes cross-platform squads. The crossplay rollout includes all four platforms. The digital PS5 edition is available through the PS Store.

On Xbox, the Store listing marks PEAK as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. The Xbox launch announcement confirms that edition includes every content update, including added biomes, cosmetics, and features. All three console editions include the Gloom, Mesa, and Roots updates from day one, while the PS5 version also includes every content update, biome, and item released since the game’s initial launch.

PEAK can be played solo or in groups of up to four. Scouts climb a mountain on a mysterious island while scavenging for food and managing injuries that reduce stamina. Tornadoes, poison clouds, birds, and zombies are among the hazards across its four biomes. Custom runs let groups adjust the difficulty, and PS5 players can use them to physically kick their friends.

September’s Patch 2.04.a added room codes in preparation for cross-platform play. Hosts can copy a lobby code from the pause menu, then friends can enter it through JOIN GAME. Room codes now give mixed-platform groups a way to meet in the same lobby.

Skybound is also producing a physical PlayStation 5 edition. It includes a disc with the base game, a BUDDY CODE that can be given to a friend, and a printed passport with stickers for customizing a character. Preorders are open through VGP. The edition is scheduled to ship later this year, though no specific release date has been announced.

An ESRB listing confirmed the PS5 port on October 13, before a launch date was available. The launch update will also include general fixes, with the team planning to share more details next week.

Peak

Peak is a cooperative climbing game for up to four players. After crash-landing on an unknown island, players take the role of scouts attempting to ascend the mountain at its center. The mountain is semi-procedurally generated and changes every 24 hours, featuring five distinct biomes with unique obstacles and enemies. Players manage stamina, collect climbing tools like ropes and pitons, and must work together to survive hazards while ascending.
