Path of Exile 2 just handed Expedition its own extra skill tree
Update 0.5.4 adds a new Expedition Atlas Passive tree, plus skill-scaling tweaks for uniques, Orbs of Sacrifice, and a fresh The Vessel of Kulemak drop.

Path of Exile 2 patch 0.5.4 is live now, and Grinding Gear Games has given Expedition its own Atlas Passive tree for players who want more control over the league’s loot hunt.
Points for the new tree come from bosses in the Grand Expedition questline, and many of the nodes can be swapped around whenever you like. One branch, ‘Feeling Lucky?’, has Farrow sell Liquid Verisium so you can kick off Remnant encounters with a random rune roll. Other options improve Logbook drops or add buried Sentinels, which wake nearby enemies with extra runic power when uncovered.
Update 0.5.4 also changes unique items that grant skills when equipped. Those skills now scale down for lower-level characters, which should make them usable earlier instead of pushing them into the late game. Game director Jonathan Rogers said the goal is to open up more builds much sooner.
There is also a new corruption gamble after Atziri in the Temple. Defeating her can award four Orbs of Sacrifice, each of which upgrades a corrupted enchantment while removing one random modifier. If an item is double-corrupted, two orbs can raise both enchantments.
The Master’s Reach, a new unique from Abyss boss The Vessel of Kulemak, has joined the pool as well. It marks weak spots on enemies, and its built-in skill, Untether, plants Abyssal Energy on a target’s heart before setting off a heavy physical blast if you keep pressure on it or kill the target outright. Grinding Gear Games says more Vessel of Kulemak uniques are still on the way, and the patch notes also include smaller fixes such as an option to hide the ‘You Have Died’ message.
