Overwatch 2’s July 14 patch brings Summer Games and a huge hero balance pass
The update starts Summer Games 2026, adjusts heroes across 5v5, 6v6, and Stadium, and includes several bug fixes.

Overwatch 2 received its July 14, 2026 retail patch, bringing back Summer Games alongside a wide balance pass for tanks, damage heroes, supports, and Stadium builds. The update also adds Junkrat’s Loot Hunt, continues the Excavation Initiative, and fixes several problems across the game.
Summer Games 2026 is live from July 14 through July 30, with Lucioball, Lucioball Remix, and Winston’s Beach Volleyball returning to the Arcade. Players can complete challenges during the event to earn summer-themed rewards. Junkrat’s Loot Hunt will follow from July 31 through August 3, with match progress contributing toward Loot Boxes without resetting between days.
The hero changes affect both standard play and Stadium. Doomfist’s Empowered Rocket Punch has less collateral range and radius, while Junker Queen, Ramattra, Reaper, Lúcio, and Ana receive direct improvements. Sigma, Cassidy, Kiriko, and several Stadium powers receive reductions. The full notes also include adjustments for newer heroes such as Shion, Sierra, Vendetta, and Wuyang.
Blizzard also changed Stadium Clash capture speed to help shorten unusually long rounds. The official Overwatch patch notes contain the complete breakdown below.

Hero Updates
Tank
Doomfist
Empowered Rocket Punch’s increased follow-through size was hitting targets far away from the initial target. We’re reducing the bonus size while retaining some additional range and radius to preserve its power fantasy.
Rocket Punch
- Empowered Punch collateral range gain reduced 75% to 40%.
- Empowered Punch collateral radius gain reduced from 50% to 40%.
Junker Queen
Commanding Shout is Junker Queen’s primary source of survivability and team protection. Its cooldown begins after the effect expires, resulting in a longer time between uses. We’re reducing the cooldown to increase its availability during engagements.
Commanding Shout
- Cooldown reduced from 12 to 10 seconds. (5v5)
- Cooldown reduced from 15 to 13 seconds. (6v6)
Mauga
Mauga could maintain high accuracy when firing a single Chaingun for extended periods. Adding dynamic spread to individual Chainguns encourages switching between weapons to manage spread. This change does not affect accuracy while firing both weapons simultaneously.
Chainguns
- Maximum spread while firing individual Chainguns increased from 1 to 1.5.
- Number of shots until maximum spread increased from 0 to 30 shots.
Ramattra
Increasing Ravenous Vortex’s explosion damage rewards more precise detonations. We’re also reducing Block’s cooldown to allow Ramattra to block immediately after a single punch instead of two, improving the flow of Nemesis Form.
Ravenous Vortex
- Explosion damage increased from 15 to 30.
Block (Nemesis Form)
- Cooldown reduced from 1 to 0.5 seconds.
Sigma
Sigma remains durable when successfully rotating through his defensive tools. Reducing his shield health lowers his survivability when opponents are able to break through his defenses.
- Shield health reduced from 275 to 250.
Hyper Regeneration – Minor Perk
- Damage conversion reduced from 40% to 30%.
Damage
Cassidy
Silver Bullet’s additional projectile size improved the perk’s effectiveness by making the empowered shot significantly easier to land. We’re removing that bonus while retaining its potential damage.
Silver Bullet – Major Perk
- Projectile size reduced from 0.17 to 0.07.
Freja
Reducing Take Aim’s explosion delay lowers the time between impact and damage, creating more consistent follow-up opportunities while reducing the bolt’s disruptive potential when hit by it. The other changes are aimed at improving the flow between Take Aim and Revdraw Crossbow’s primary fire.
Revdraw Crossbow
- Fire Rate increased from 5 to 5.5.
Take Aim
- Recovery reduced from 0.5 to 0.4.
- Explosion delay reduced from 1 to 0.8 seconds.
Reaper
Reaper’s reduced health pool has limited his ability to sustain through extended engagements. Increasing the effectiveness of his passive restores some of that durability while rewarding aggressive play.
Soul Reaving – Minor Perk
- Pickup radius of Soul Globes increased from 5 to 8 meters.
The Reaping
- Lifesteal increased from 25% to 30%.
Shion
Reducing Execution’s recovery time better aligns the downtime after using the ability with when Shion can fire again. Joyride’s impact damage is also being reduced to lower the effectiveness of continuously ramming targets and the combo potential of immediately detonating the bike after impact.
Execution
- Recovery time reduced from 0.4 to 0.3 seconds.
Joyride
- Impact damage while riding reduced from 60 to 30.
Sierra
Anchor Drone is being adjusted to support more frequent deployment and repositioning opportunities. Its cooldown and duration are being reduced, while its health is being increased to improve its survivability in combat.
Anchor Drone
- Cooldown reduced from 12 to 11 seconds.
- Duration reduced from 10 to 9 seconds.
- Health increased from 80 to 125.
Vendetta
Vendetta has continued to underperform since the significant changes made several seasons ago. Reverting Palatine Fang’s overhead swing range restores some of her ability to close the distance and secure eliminations.
Palatine Fang
- Overhead swing bonus range increased from 2.0 to 2.5 meters.
Venture
Clobber’s cooldown is being reduced to shorten the delay before Venture can use the ability again and better align it with its recovery time. This increases the frequency with which Clobber can be used within engagements and improves its synergy with the Covered in Dirt Major Perk.
Clobber (Quick Melee)
- Cooldown/Recovery reduced from 1.6 to 1.2 seconds.
Support
Ana
Ana’s self-sustain has decreased following the removal of the Support passive’s reduced health regeneration delay. Increasing Biotic Grenade’s healing strengthens its defensive utility while also increasing its offensive impact.
Biotic Grenade
- Explosion damage and healing increased from 75 to 90.
Brigitte
Adding a burst of instant healing when Inspire is triggered allows Brigitte to provide more immediate healing while rewarding players for consistent Inspire triggers.
Inspire
- Now grants 12 instant healing on trigger.
- Healing over time reduced from 60 to 45.
Kiriko
The reduced recovery time on Healing Ofuda improved the feel and consistency of Kiriko’s healing. However, her overall healing output has become too high, so we’re reducing the base healing while preserving the improved responsiveness.
Healing Ofuda
- Healing per projectile reduced from 13 to 12.
Lúcio
Lúcio’s overall effectiveness has been reduced over time to account for his uniquely powerful speed utility. Increasing his weapon damage strengthens his offensive capabilities without increasing the strength of his utility.
Sonic Amplifier
- Damage per projectile increased from 20 to 22.
Stadium Updates
General Changes
- Clash capture speed now increased up to 300% as time elapses (Up from 200%).
- Rate at which Clash capture speed increases increased to 2% every 1s (Up from 1%).
Clash rounds in Stadium can lead to outlier match lengths, especially in compositions with high amounts of sustain, so we’re increasing the point capture speed to limit such outliers.
Tank
Junker Queen
Royal Bullets – Power
- Damage reduced to 20 (Down from 25).
Bow Down – Power
- Duration reduced to 1.5s (Down from 2s).
Damage
Cassidy
Gunslinger Grit – Power
- Max Life Heal per bullet reloaded increased to 2.5% (Up from 2%).
Junkrat
Zip Grease – Power
- Increased damage to airborne targets increased to 25% (Up from 10%).
Mei
Slowball – Power
- Removed increased hitbox size on Slowball projectile.
Frost Armor – Power
- Damage converted to Armor reduced to 3% (Down from 5%).
Reaper
Accelerated Reaping – Power
- Attack Speed per stack increased to 5% (Up from 4%).
Dauntless Draught – Epic Survival Hero Item
- Wraith Form Duration reduced to 33% (Down from 50%).
Torbjörn
Hammer Throw – Power
- Added a VFX Trail for added clarity.
Blacksmith – Power
- Heal increased to 100% of Hammer damage (Up from 75%).
Come Get Yer Armor – Power
- Armor scaling reduced to 15% of your Max Life (Down from 20%).
Anchor Bolts – Epic Ability Hero Item
- Ability Power reduced to 10% (Down from 15%).
Support
Juno
This change should reduce the ceiling of Blink Boost when paired with multiple other Cooldown Reduction items. We’ll continue to monitor Blink Boost’s synergy with On Ability items.
Blink Boosts – Power
- Reduced Cooldown now counts as base cooldown reduced instead of gaining cooldown reduction. Now scales multiplicatively with cooldown reduction instead of additively.
Kiriko
Clone Conjuration – Power
- Clone effectiveness increased to 65% reduced (Up from 75% reduced).
Keen Kunai – Power
- Cooldown reduction per critical hit increased to 20% (Up from 15%).
Lúcio
Rhythm Rail – Power
- Damage increased to 100% (Up from 75%).
Crowd Pleaser – Power
- Heal increased to 40% of Soundwave Damage (Up from 33%).
Mercy
Distortion – Power
- Max Life Overhealth reduced to 25% (Down from 30%).
Wuyang
- Currency from damage and healing increased by 8.33%.
Zenyatta
Enlightenment – Power
- Heal reduced to 30% of damage dealt (Down from 40%).
Inner Peace – Power
- Healing reduced to 80% reduced (Down from 75% reduced).
Item Changes
Volskaya Ordnance – Epic Weapon General Item
- Bonus Damage per 100 Bonus Life on target increased to 6% (Up from 5%).
Gadget Maximizer – Epic Ability General Item
- Gadget cooldown reduction increased to 35% (Up from 25%).
Three Tap Tommygun – Epic Ability General Item
- Added 0.5s internal cooldown for subsequent applications.
- Damage reduced to 3% of target’s current life (Down from 5%).
- Damage duration reduced to 3s (Down from 5s).
Vortex Vial – Gadget
- Cost reduced to 9000 (Down from 9500).
- Cooldown reduced to 15s (Down from 25s).
Three Tap Tommygun has proven to be an outlier in terms of output, so we’re reducing the output and making it more difficult to quickly apply multiple stacks of. We’re also improving some underused counter options, especially the Anti-Flier gadget.

- Added an infinite Joyride option for Shion under Settings > Heroes > Shion.
