Today, Xbox Game Pass Standard has welcomed two new titles: Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler 2 and Dovetail Games’ Train Sim World 5. Previously available on the Ultimate and PC tiers, these games are now accessible to subscribers of the Standard tier.
Octopath Traveler 2, released in February 2023 for various platforms, including Switch and PlayStation, is set to arrive on Xbox in early 2024. The game features enhanced HD-2D visuals that blend retro aesthetics with modern design. Square Enix’s description introduces a fresh storyline along with eight unique protagonists embarking on their adventures through strategic turn-based battles.
The current structure of Xbox Game Pass includes four tiers:
- Xbox Game Pass Core: $9.99 / £6.99 per month for access to a limited catalogue of around 47 titles plus online multiplayer.
- XBOX Game Pass Standard: $14.99 / £10.99 per month providing access to approximately 340 games.
- PC Game Pass: $11.99 / £9.99 per month offering over 430 games, including EA Play titles.
- XBOX Game Pass Ultimate: $19.99 / £14.99 per month featuring the largest selection of games alongside all benefits from PC Game Pass.
This update reflects ongoing efforts by Microsoft to expand its gaming library across different subscription models.
