On Nuke, professional players have leaned heavily on a two-smoke wall that runs from Main toward Garage. The setup uses both throws from one position outside T-spawn, which means a single player can handle the full wall with help from a teammate carrying an extra smoke.
A Reddit post tracking professional Nuke smoke usage puts the second throw at the top of the map’s six-month numbers. The accompanying gameplay clip shows the lineup in action.
Main-to-Garage versus Red-to-Secret
Most powerful outside smoke setups on Nuke use a pair rather than one grenade. This version covers the route between Main and Garage instead of forming the wall between Red and Secret.
Players crossing are still vulnerable to a peek from Heaven, which is the setup’s main weakness. The Red smokes create a different problem: players moving from T-spawn toward Red can be seen during the crossing, or the team needs another smoke to close the gap. The professional usage numbers still favor the Main-to-Garage pair.
How to set up the two throws
- Stand in the fence corner as you leave T-spawn.
- For Smoke 1, find the second horizontal bar down from the top of the silo. Aim where that bar meets an imaginary continuation of the blue container’s second vertical bar, then perform a jump-throw.
- For Smoke 2, keep the vertical aim unchanged and move the crosshair left until the horizontal bar lines up with the vertical pipe. Aim at the pipe’s inner section and jump-throw.
Smoke 2 leads the professional count
The two grenades are both among the most-used smokes on Nuke, but the second throw has the stronger recent numbers:
| Throw | Uses in the last six months | Nuke ranking | Lifetime uses | All-time ranking |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Smoke 1 | 979 | No. 2 of 124 | 2,941 | No. 4 |
| Smoke 2 | 1,017 | No. 1 of 124 | 3,814 | No. 2 |
XertioN used Smoke 1 62 times, followed by Mezii with 58 and Siuhy with 44. Among teams, paiN Gaming led with 103 uses, ahead of HEROIC at 71 and MOUZ at 67.
For Smoke 2, Mezii topped the player count with 62 uses. XertioN followed with 51, while Siuhy recorded 48. paiN Gaming again led the team figures at 112, with HEROIC at 76 and Team Vitality at 66.
One player can throw the full wall
More than 2,500 smoke combinations have occurred since the beginning of 2024, and one player handled both throws in 99.7% of those cases. If a teammate drops an extra smoke, the player holding it can deliver the entire Main-to-Garage wall alone before the team takes outside control.
