Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4‘s campaign has reached 93% positive on Steam, up from the 90% snapshot recorded across nearly 2,000 reviews by October 18. The SteamDB review listing tracks the rating as Campaign Early Access progresses.
At 81.15% across an earlier 900-review snapshot, the game already topped Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at 77.95% and 2019’s Modern Warfare at 77.86%, but remained below Call of Duty: Black Ops III at 84.36%. The later 90% reading cleared all three comparisons, and the 93% snapshot extends that lead.
Campaign Early Access began October 16, one week before the full game’s scheduled October 23 launch. The story alternates between Captain Price’s covert operations and new protagonist Private Park’s frontline story in a fictional Korean conflict, mixing stealth with direct combat. DMZ Early Access is scheduled for October 20, so the Steam score still reflects the campaign rather than DMZ or Multiplayer.
Reviews have praised the campaign’s set pieces, pacing, and cast performances. Director of Production Graham Hagmair thanked casting directors Emily Schweber and Karan Sadow, while Price actor Barry Sloane, Valeria actor Maria Elisa Carmago, and Ghost actor Samuel Roukin acknowledged players’ praise. Sloane and Roukin also urged fans to keep spoilers out of discussions. Their responses add a human note to a score that still covers only one part of the game.
