World Update 23 Will Bring Poland and the Baltics to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in October

Sim Update 7 is targeted for October 13, while Aircraft & Avionics Update 6 is planned for September 29 and Expert Series 03 is scheduled for November 24.

World Update 23: Poland and The Baltics will expand Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 in October with updated cities, new airports, activities, and points of interest. The September 17 Microsoft Flight Simulator development update also set out plans for Aircraft & Avionics Update 6, Sim Update 7, and the next Expert Series aircraft.

The update follows the September 16 Developer Livestream and gives players a clearer view of the simulator’s remaining 2026 schedule. The National Championship Air Races are also part of the October 13 release window, following the previously announced air-racing plans.

World Update 23 heads to Poland and the Baltics

World Update 23 is planned for October 2026 and will refresh photogrammetry in Tallinn, Estonia, Riga, Latvia, Kaunas and Vilnius, Lithuania, plus Gdansk and Warsaw, Poland. The update is also scheduled to add 12 areas of interest, 5 hand-crafted airports, 77 points of interest, 3 Discovery Flights for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, 5 Precision Landings for 2024, 4 Landing Challenges for 2020, 1 Rally Race Challenge for 2024, and 1 Guided Tour for 2024.

Five aircraft are planned for September 29

Aircraft & Avionics Update 6 is planned for September 29. It will bring five aircraft to native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 standards:

  • Dornier DO J “WAL”
  • Dornier DO X
  • Dornier DO 31
  • Junkers F13
  • Junkers JU52

More Aircraft & Avionics Updates for Local Legends and Famous Flyers are also planned, although the specific aircraft for those later releases have not been announced.

Two new aircraft are planned for late 2026

Local Legend 26: Antonov AN-28 is scheduled to launch alongside World Update 23. Developed by AT Simulations, the aircraft will include more than 10 liveries, multiple cabin options, and authentic systems.

Expert Series 03: Embraer 600 Praetor is scheduled for November 24. Asobo and Working Title are developing the aircraft with sound work from Boris Audio Works and Microsoft. Its planned features include pilot-accessible hydraulics, fueling and defueling, and Ram Air Turbine panels, along with individually controllable cabin lighting, interactable tray tables, and lavatory equipment.

The Praetor will also include a complete avionics suite with a HUD, more than 900 pages of electronic checklists, on-screen charts, advanced flight planning, and a fly-by-wire control system. Its systems modeling will cover individual valves, pumps, actuators, and circuit breakers, with an EFB app providing systems pages for interactable components.

Sim Update 7 targets October 13

Sim Update 7 is targeted for release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro on October 13. Alongside fixes and improvements across Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the update will bring back the National Championship Air Races activity with a recreated course in Roswell, New Mexico and the new STOL Drag class.

The returning activity will update 44 aircraft and account for wake turbulence, wear and tear, and engine management. Players will be able to host private lobby races, while scheduled races are planned for 2027. The activity itself will be free for all players, with an optional $40 aircraft package offering real-world National Championship Air Races paint schemes. Owners of the Reno Air Races DLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 will receive that package at no additional cost.
