Mega Starmie will make its Pokémon GO debut during the Ultra Unlock: Starmie Super Mega Raid Day on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Trainers unlocked the event after completing 45 hourly Global Challenges during GO Fest, and now the star-shaped Water- and Psychic-type Pokémon is ready to take over Gyms.
Shiny Starmie will have an increased encounter chance during the event, although no exact percentage has been provided. Trainers can also collect up to five extra free Raid Passes, earn bonus XP, and hunt for Rare Candy XL.
Mega Starmie raid details and catch CP
Mega Starmie will appear in Super Mega Raids with seven shields. Trainers should Mega Evolve a Pokémon before joining, as Mega Evolution will help break through the boss’s defenses. The raid encounter will give Trainers a regular Starmie rather than one that is already Mega Evolved. Starmie caught without a weather boost will have a CP between 1404 and 1476.
Rainy or Windy weather will raise the possible catch CP range to 1756–1846. The event also gives caught Starmie Mega Level 1 unlocked.
Starmie is weak to Bug, Dark, Electric, Ghost, and Grass-type attacks. That gives Trainers plenty of ways to build a raid party, from hard-hitting Ghost attackers to fast Electric and Grass options.

Finding Super Mega Raids and completing Research
Super Mega Raids may appear only at certain Gyms, so finding the right location will be part of the hunt. The web-based Pokémon GO map can show Gyms where Super Mega Raids might appear, raids that are already in progress, and nearby community meetups. Meetups can be filtered several days before they take place, while parks and similar areas are generally more likely to host Super Mega Raids.
Timed Research will be available during the event. Completing its tasks will award a Premium Battle Pass and an encounter with Scizor. The research expires, so its tasks must be finished and its rewards claimed before the research period ends.
