Lego and 2K Games have officially announced the release of their latest collaboration, Lego 2K Drive, set to hit the shelves on May 19th. This open-world driving adventure will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Developed by Visual Concepts, the studio behind popular titles like WWE 2K and NBA 2K, Lego 2K Drive promises to bring a unique and exciting gaming experience to both Lego and racing games fans. Lego 2K Drive will feature an expansive open world filled with diverse biomes, races, minigames, and challenges for players to explore. The game will also include a story mode, which will tie all these elements together, allowing players to engage with the Lego universe like never before.
One of the most exciting aspects of Lego 2K Drive is its customization level. Players can build their dream vehicles using over 1,000 unique Lego pieces or choose from ready-made options inspired by popular Lego sets like City, Creator, and Speed Champions. This level of personalization will enable gamers to bring their creativity to the racetrack and truly make the game their own.
In addition to the single-player mode, Lego 2K Drive will offer both competitive multiplayer and a “robust co-op” experience. Two-player split-screen will be available, as well as online multiplayer options, ensuring hours of fun for friends and family members to enjoy together.
Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, expressed the team’s commitment to creating a memorable gaming experience for both Lego and racing enthusiasts: “With the history the LEGO brand holds, we were very conscious of the responsibility we had to both our partners and longtime fans of LEGO play, while still thinking about how we can bring something new and unique to a LEGO title.“
