Fallout 76’s September 15 Repackaging Will Require a Larger Download for a Smaller Install
Maintenance will begin at 10:00 a.m. ET across all platforms as Bethesda deploys The Slasher update and repackages the game.
Fallout 76 will enter maintenance on Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. ET while The Slasher update is deployed across all platforms. The update will require a larger-than-usual download, but the finished installation will take up less space than it does now.
Bethesda’s Steam announcement describes the process as a repackaging of the game for every platform. Players should plan for the larger download on September 15, even though the overall file size will shrink once the update is installed.
The maintenance also marks the start of the Slasher investigation and Season 26, with the new mystery and Beware the Blood Moon reward track arriving as part of the update.
