iRacing’s Season 4 Hotfix 1 Targets Caterham Pit Exit Problems and 2 Crashes

Version 2026.09.10.02 also changes rear-suspension damage behavior on the Caterham 420R and Caterham Academy to improve handling.

iRacing’s 2026 Season 4 Hotfix 1 targets two Caterham cars and two simulator crashes. Version 2026.09.10.02 addresses a rear-suspension issue that could prevent the Caterham 420R and Caterham Academy from leaving their pit stalls, while also fixing crashes tied to minimizing the simulator and using replay controls. Both cars had only just entered the simulator with the 2026 Season 4 release on Sept. 9.

Both Caterham fixes adjust the cars’ rear-suspension damage properties so the rear axle can translate fully. Beyond resolving the pit exit problem, iRacing says the change will improve how both cars handle.

The simulator fixes cover two separate situations. One crash could occur when the SIM window was minimized, while the other could happen when drivers used the VCR controls during a replay. The notes describe the downtime as planned and required for these changes.

iRacing’s full Hotfix 1 release notes provide the detailed breakdown, while the Steam announcement confirms the scope of the update.
