Incursion Red River Hotfix #1.4.0.1 Changes Bot Grenades and Solo AI Scaling

The changelog also gives 9x39 SP-5 and BP separate stats, reduces fog and rain, and lowers video memory use, especially on 8 GB cards.

Incursion Red River Hotfix #1.4.0.1 adjusts bot behavior, fixes mission issues and adds changes across weapons, weather and stability. Solo raids now respond to the AI count multiplier, and bots throw grenades less accurately and wait longer before throwing one after spotting a player. The Steam changelog also flags a visual issue affecting RTX 50-series GPUs. The hotfix follows November 4 Update 1.4.0.0, which added the Outskirts map and rebuilt the RED:FOR AI system.

Other player-facing changes include separate stats for 9×39 SP-5 and BP ammunition, rebinding for quickslots, and new volume sliders for the Mission Handler and enemy voices. The update also reduces video memory use, particularly on 8 GB cards.

Incursion Red River Hotfix #1.4.0.1 Patch Notes

Known Issues

  • Red outlines, light rays or discolored foliage on RTX 50-series GPUs: this comes from an NVIDIA driver problem since Update 1.4. Rolling back to driver 617.42 with a clean installation has fixed it for affected players so far. Step-by-step instructions are in our pinned thread: Workaround: red outlines on RTX 50-series GPUs. We have reported the problem to NVIDIA and are supporting their investigation.

AI

  • Fixed the AI count multiplier having no effect in single player. It now scales the number of bots in solo raids as well.
  • Bots throw grenades less accurately by default. Grenade accuracy can now be adjusted in the AI settings.
  • Bots no longer throw a grenade the moment they first spot you. They now need to be in combat for a little while first.
  • Bots call out “Taking cover” much less often.
  • Bots no longer see infrared lasers. IR lasers are now only visible through night vision.
  • Fixed bots walking into the river on Quarry.
  • Fixed bots spawning with an AS VAL or VSS Vintorez without a muzzle.

Missions

  • Fixed the Trader Reconnaissance mission description.
  • Fixed the first mission’s description and voice line wrongly mentioning Quarry.
  • The second mission now counts as completed without having to extract.
  • Fixed quest items not showing up in the inbox message after extracting with a lend loadout.
  • Fixed the TactiNav communicator’s resource finder not working reliably for clients.
  • Fixed extraction flares being visible at closed extraction zones when loading into a raid.
  • Hacking a terminal now shows “Hacking started…” and begins right away, instead of pausing before the first character.

Convoy & Airdrops

  • The convoy no longer starts in an out-of-bounds area.
  • The convoy now calls in reinforcements when it is taken out by an airstrike.
  • A potential second airdrop now appears later in the raid.

Weather

  • Fog and rain now come up less often and don’t last as long.
  • Fog can no longer directly follow rain, and rain can no longer directly follow fog.

Weapons & Ammunition

  • 9×39 SP-5 and BP now have their own stats. Before, both used placeholder values.
    • SP-5 does more damage and has a higher chance to wound.
    • BP has much better armor penetration.

Inventory & Traders

  • Fixed being able to take items from a trader without paying by dragging them onto a stack of the same item you already carry.
  • Fixed inspect windows sometimes showing a different weapon (for example, a CQ showing up as an MCX) until you relogged.
  • Fixed weapons appearing frozen (no magazine animation) or installed attachments not showing after storing the weapon in a container and equipping it again.
  • Fixed a crash when loading loose ammunition from the nearby-items area into a partially filled magazine.

Controls

  • Quickslots can now be rebound.

  • Fixed the GCPS also taking on the weapon’s viewmodel offset.

Graphics & Performance

  • Fixed a rare crash in the light detection system.
  • Fixed a rare crash in the GPU profiler.
  • The game now warns at startup if mods are installed. Mods made for an older version are the most common cause of crashes at startup after an update.

  • Added dead bodies (UICS and VLF) across the whole map.
  • Various fixes for reported issues.
