Hunt: Showdown 1896 buffs the Uppercut and clears out a few crash bugs
Update 2.8.0.3 raises the Uppercut's base damage to 126 and fixes a dedicated server crash, an Xbox reconnect crash, and a few lingering weapon issues.

Crytek pushed Update 2.8.0.3 live for Hunt: Showdown 1896 on June 17, 2026, and this patch goes straight at balance, stability, and a handful of stubborn bugs. The biggest change is an Uppercut damage buff, but the update also clears up a dedicated server crash, an Xbox disconnect issue, and several weapon and trait problems that could interrupt a match.
Patch Notes
The Uppercut now hits harder, and Crytek says it is pushing the gun closer to its earlier power level. The rest of the update focuses on crash fixes and cleanup, including a lingering fire bug on the Maxim M1895 and a reserve ammo correction for the Uppercut’s Special Ammo.
- Increased the Uppercut base damage with basic, FMJ, and Incendiary Ammo to 126
Dev note: With this change, the Uppercut regains some of its previous appeal and moves towards its old power level, especially compared to its new main competitor, the Haymaker. We will continue to balance weapons based on your feedback on the Inventory Slot Rework and expect more changes coming during Road to Hell.
- Fixed a dedicated server crash
- Fixed an Xbox crash caused by gamepad disconnect and reconnect
- Fixed the continued fire of the Maxim M1895 after extraction
- Partially fixed the delays for traits that involve using Dark Sight, including Blast Sense.
- The delays have improved, but we are still working on a definitive fix.
- Fixed the Uppercut Special Ammo reserve ammo count (from 9 to 12)
If you have run into any of these issues, this update should make the game feel a little steadier right away. Tell us what you think in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
