Helldivers 2’s new upscaler update is already rubbing players the wrong way
The Machinery of Oppression: 6.2.5 patch added DLSS 4.5, FSR 3.1.5, XeSS 3.0, and other PC graphics features, but reports are pointing to blur, crashes, and lower FPS.

Arrowhead Game Studios pushed a fresh Helldivers 2 update for PC that was meant to smooth out performance, but the first wave of player feedback has been rough.
The Machinery of Oppression: 6.2.5 patch added FSR 3.1.5, DLSS 4.5, XeSS 3.0, Variable Rate Shading for supported devices, DRS support on PC, NVIDIA Reflex for NVIDIA GPUs, and AMD Anti-Lag 2 for AMD GPUs. Arrowhead also said the update brought optimizations and stability fixes, and the studio brought in Nixxes Software, which has worked on the PC ports of Death Stranding 2 and Horizon Forbidden West.
That sounds good on paper, but players are saying the new upscaling tools are not behaving the way they should. In a Reddit post from user kizuati, screenshots showed the problem in motion, and the user said the upscalers were “essentially unusable”.
Other reports suggest the issue is not limited to muddy image quality. Steam comments linked by the community point to crashes and lower frame rates when upscaling is turned on, which undercuts the point of a patch that was supposed to help the PC version breathe a little easier.
The patch also claimed to fix a handful of other PC problems, including climbing small obstacles without auto-climb, several rendering bugs, extra resolution options, the high reflection setting, and VRAM management. For now, though, the headline feature is the one drawing the most complaints.
