GTA 6’s August 27 extended look will premiere on Netflix before YouTube

Grand Theft Auto VI's PS5-captured presentation will premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. EDT, with free releases on YouTube and the GTA VI website following six hours later.

Grand Theft Auto VI will offer two ways to watch its August 27 extended look, but the presentations will not start at the same time. Netflix will host the first showing at 3 p.m. EDT, while the Rockstar Games YouTube channel will carry it six hours later at 9 p.m. EDT.

Rockstar has kept the August 27 date in place despite recent leak questions. Our schedule update reported that the Netflix premiere would remain on track.

GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix

Netflix gets the first showing

The presentation, officially titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, will premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. EDT on Thursday, August 27, 2026. That is 8 p.m. BST in London.

The Netflix listing for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look describes it as “Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5, this extended look at the next Grand Theft Auto showcases the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.” The promotional language is broad, but the first clause provides the key technical detail: the presentation was captured entirely inside the game on PS5.

The first showing will be available to Netflix subscribers. Viewers can find the event through the Netflix listing for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look.

YouTube and the GTA VI website will carry the second showing

Anyone waiting for the wider online release will have to hold on until 9 p.m. EDT on August 27. At that time, the presentation will become available for free through the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website.

The online release gives viewers a way to watch without a Netflix subscription or joining the earlier premiere. It also leaves a six-hour gap between the two showings.

GTA 6 reveal times around the world

The two showings will keep the same six-hour gap in every region. Here are the scheduled times provided for each time zone.

What Rockstar has confirmed

Rockstar has not announced how long the extended look will run. Its official wording describes the presentation as an extended look and says it will debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story. The first two GTA 6 trailers did not include actual gameplay footage, so this event is being treated as the game’s first proper extended gameplay reveal.

That leaves the exact mix of story scenes, gameplay footage, and feature explanations unknown. For now, the firm details are the title, the August 27 date, the PS5 in-game capture, and the two release times.
