Forza Horizon 6 still has no release date on PS5, even though Xbox confirmed in January 2026 that the racing game would come to Sony’s console later than the Xbox and PC versions.
On Aug. 27, Tom Warren posted that he does not expect the racing game to reach PS5 during 2026, while also saying that Forza Horizon 6 is definitely still releasing.
I’m not expecting to see Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 in 2026 https://t.co/rpOO47WmF8

Warren’s view is an expectation about timing, not a delay announcement. The official target remains 2026, and no delay or cancellation has been confirmed. Still, with Aug. 27 already here, only the remaining months of the year are available for the port to launch.
The Xbox and PC editions launched on May 19, while the game’s original announcement also established its move to Japan. That leaves PS5 players with only a year-long release window. As August draws to a close, Xbox has yet to provide a month, let alone a specific day, for the port.
Xbox still says announced PS5 ports are coming
The silence is a little awkward because Xbox’s wider platform messaging has changed since the PS5 version was confirmed. The company has recommitted to releasing a selection of console-exclusive software, including Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution. Xbox has also stopped showing other platform logos in trailers for its multiplatform games.
That does not appear to include projects that were already announced for PS5. Xbox’s Matt Booty said previously announced ports would not be reversed, and Halo: Campaign Evolved arrived on PS5 in July 2026. Forza Horizon 6 and Fable therefore remain among the Xbox games still planned for Sony’s console.
There is also a straightforward business reason to keep the racing series moving across platforms. Forza Horizon 5 became one of Xbox’s strongest PS5 launches after arriving in 2025, with analyst estimates putting its sales in the millions. Leaving the sequel off PS5 would mean passing up another large audience.
The 2026 release window is getting crowded
A late-year launch could be difficult to place. September and October already have crowded release schedules, November is closely associated with GTA 6, and December is rarely the easiest month for a major game to find attention. None of that rules out a 2026 launch, though. Xbox could still announce a date shortly before the port arrives.
Gamescom does not look like the likely venue for the next PS5 update. Xbox has confirmed a Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast for September, which gives the event one possible place for new information. A future State of Play is another possibility, but no presentation has been confirmed for Forza Horizon 6.
Warren’s prediction makes a 2027 launch look more plausible than it did when the PS5 version was first confirmed, but it is not confirmation of a new release window. For now, the PS5 version remains officially planned for 2026 and officially undated. The longer the wait continues, the more curious the eventual announcement becomes.
