Fable will still ask for a serious gaming setup at its highest visual target. The official PC requirements cover everything from 1080p at Low settings with 30 FPS to 4K at Ultra settings with 60 FPS.
The new action-adventure RPG follows the series’ familiar mix of fairy-tale humor, British flavor, and player choice. Its three main pillars are Fairytale, Britishness, and Choices. The cast is separate from the characters in the original games, although the developers say the tone will remain familiar.
Choices will carry consequences across Albion. Fable’s morality system will focus on actions witnessed by at least one other person, with different characters forming their own opinions about the Hero’s reputation.
Combat brings together melee attacks, ranged weapons, and magic under the names Strength, Skill, and Will. Players can follow a sword strike with a fireball, then switch tactics to control groups of enemies or pick targets off from a distance. The official combat footage demonstrates how those options work together.
What each Fable performance tier requires
Microsoft’s breakdown includes four targets. The chart also lists Windows 10, version 1909, or Windows 11, along with 150GB of required storage.

The jump from Low to Ultra is steep, especially for graphics cards. Players targeting 4K performance will need a system near the top of the current hardware range, while the lower presets offer more room for older or mid-range PCs.
Microsoft plans to release Fable on February 23, 2027. That gives PC players time to compare their current setup with the target they want before the Hero’s journey begins.
