Euro Truck Simulator 2 is preparing to welcome coaches, and SCS Software has now detailed several vehicle systems built specifically for passenger routes. The developer outlined the features in a Steam announcement published on July 17, 2026.
The upcoming Coaches DLC will add more than a new type of vehicle to the driving simulator. Coaches will come with their own dashboard tools, visibility options, and cabin controls, giving passenger journeys a different feel from standard freight hauls.
Passenger-focused features for the new coaches
One of the first additions is a destination display mounted above the windshield. It will show the coach’s final stop and can be removed as an accessory. The display will also be visible from inside the cabin, with its text length, colors, and other visual details adjusted to suit different destinations.
Large coach windshields bring another practical concern: bright sunlight. On supported vehicles, players will be able to control the left and right sun visors separately. The visors will be visible from outside the coach and will include animated controls and sound effects.
Reversing should also be easier to manage. The DLC will add rear-view cameras with feeds built into the dashboard. When the coach enters reverse, the camera view will replace the navigation display automatically. That could be particularly helpful around the bus stations and stops that SCS Software is recreating for the expansion.
Inside the passenger cabin, drivers will have two lighting options. Ambient lighting will allow players to choose a color, while the main ceiling light can be turned on or off with a button. The latter should be useful during nighttime passenger pickups and drop-offs.
SCS Software has not announced a release date for the Coaches DLC in the provided update, so these features remain part of the expansion’s ongoing development.
