Euro Truck Simulator 2 will receive a complete rework of its Livestock Trailer with the upcoming 1.61 update. SCS Software detailed the changes in its Steam announcement, including a new chassis design, revised models, and more options for players who own their trailers.
The trailer has been rebuilt from the ground up with modern European livestock trailers as its reference point. SCS said the new version aims to match real-world proportions more closely while giving the equipment a cleaner appearance and more detailed construction.
A new chassis and more trailer options
One of the clearest changes is the removal of the older belly axle variant. It will be replaced by a lowered chassis configuration with dual wheels, giving drivers two available chassis choices for owned Livestock trailers:
- Straight 3 Axle
- Lowered 3 Axle
Players will also be able to choose between an Aluminium body and a fully paintable body. The customization list includes storage boxes, water tanks, side protections, full side covers, fenders, marker lights, rear bumpers, mudflaps, a spare tire, and a fire extinguisher.
Paint customization is receiving an upgrade as well. Owned trailers will support up to four configurable colour sections across selected parts of the trailer, giving drivers more control over the final design.
Freight Market and traffic trailers are being updated
The work is not limited to player-owned equipment. SCS is also reworking the Livestock Trailer variants used in the Freight Market and by AI traffic. Company paint jobs will be redesigned around the new model to better represent real transport operations.
The 1.61 update is still upcoming, and SCS has not provided a release date in the announcement. More development details are expected as work on the update continues.
