Enlisted Gives Radio Operators, Paratroopers, and Explosives a Tune-Up

The latest improvement update cuts radio cooldowns in practice mode, spreads out paradrops, and turns enemy spawn markers gray.

Enlisted received another round of gameplay improvements on July 22, with changes aimed at radio operators, guerrillas, paratroopers, explosive packs, and several visual issues. The developer detailed the adjustments in its official Steam announcement.

The update focuses on smaller problems that could still affect a match. Practice mode now gives players more room to test radio calls, enemy spawn points are easier to identify, and paratroopers no longer arrive in such a tightly packed group.

More room to practice radio calls

Radio operators can have a major effect on a battle, but learning their call mechanics can take some time. In practice mode, their cooldown has been reduced to 5 seconds, allowing players to test the system without long waits between calls.

Enemy spawn points are easier to spot

Guerrillas and Saboteurs sometimes had trouble telling enemy spawn markers apart from warnings for airstrikes, artillery, and rocket artillery. Enemy spawn points now use gray circles instead of red ones, making active threats easier to distinguish during a fight.

Paratroopers spread out during landings

Paratroopers previously landed in a tight formation that could leave several soldiers exposed before they reached the ground. The updated paradrop logic places them across a slightly wider area, reducing the chance of the entire group becoming an easy target.

Explosives can clear trees again

Explosion packs and TNT charges once again destroy trees, opening up wooded areas while leaving behind the expected craters. The update also corrects the penetration values shown on the stat cards for the Panzerfaust 60 and GrB-39.

Finally, snow that sometimes appeared on summer maps has been removed.

Patch Notes — Making Enlisted a Better Place №74

This update improves practice-mode testing, battlefield readability, paradrop spacing, explosive destruction, weapon information, and seasonal map visuals.

  • Radio operators in your armies can change the course of battles, but it takes practice to master their radio calls. To help you get used to them, we reduced their cooldown in practice mode to 5 seconds, so you can experiment and test their mechanics without unnecessary pauses!
  • Guerrillas and-Saboteurs, soldiers operating behind enemy lines, periodically run into the problem of red circles on the map. In the heat of battle, it can be unclear whether it’s an airstrike, artillery strike, rocket artillery or you’ve simply gotten too close to the enemy’s spawn point.
  • For this reason, we’ve recolored the circles of enemy spawn points to gray. This makes it immediately obvious where the real danger lies and which areas you should steer clear of to avoid running straight into a spawning enemy squad.
  • Landing in a tight formation often cost paratroopers their lives, even while still in the air. We’ve adjusted the paradrop logic, so soldiers now land in a slightly wider area. They won’t be such an easy target for the enemy anymore.
  • Shouldn’t explosion packs and TNT charges destroy trees? Well, we’ve fixed them and once again you can turn a forest into a lovely clearing … with a few extra craters!
  • We’ve also fixed the stat cards of the Panzerfaust 60 and the GrB-39. They now display the correct penetration values. Plus, we’ve melted the snow that occasionally appeared on summer maps. After all, it did not fit the season.

Enlisted

Enlisted is a squad-based first person MMO shooter covering key battles from World War II. The game carefully recreates weapons, military vehicles and the atmosphere of that era, while demonstrating really massive clashes of numerous soldiers, tanks and aircraft with artillery and naval support.

Most of the Enlisted game modes simulate a battle involving several infantry platoons and gives the player control over a squad of soldiers with various roles (i.e. submachine gun soldier, sniper, radio operator, rifleman and others), a whole military vehicle crew or an aircraft pilot. One of the fighters is controlled directly, while others move and shoot independently following the player's general orders. In a situation where all the soldiers in the squad have fallen, a player respawns with the next available squad. This decision makes Enlisted battles look massive and spectacular while keeping the input of each individual player in the overall team victory quite significant.
