EA SPORTS FC 27 Will Bring Player Feedback Into Development Earlier

The invite-only Closed Beta runs from August 5 through August 25, 2026, with all modes becoming available on August 18.

EA has outlined how player feedback will reach EA SPORTS FC™ 27 earlier in development, with community input set to influence more areas of the game than it did in FC 26. The company detailed the process in its FC Feedback Deep Dive on Steam as the new game’s invite-only Closed Beta began its scheduled run.

EA has spent the FC 26 season collecting feedback through the Player Feedback Portal, Discord, EA Forums, Design Councils, Steam Community, surveys, polls, and playtests. For FC 27, the team plans to review that information earlier, more often, and across more parts of the experience.

How EA will use player feedback

Each feedback channel serves a different purpose. The Player Feedback Portal is intended for structured reports about a specific part of the game, while Discord supports real-time discussion and polls. The EA Forums are focused on longer discussions, and Steam Community gives PC players a place to report bugs and technical problems.

EA combines those conversations with gameplay data and research to identify player priorities, recurring issues, and wider feedback trends. The FC 27 team will meet regularly to review that information, decide which areas need more investigation, and create action plans.

Those actions may include investigating an issue, changing a game system, or explaining how a feature works. EA also made clear that one comment will not always lead to a direct adjustment. Consistent feedback trends can help the team understand what players are experiencing and decide what to examine next.

Throughout the FC 27 season, EA plans to use surveys, polls, discussions, and playtests to ask about specific features. The company also wants to report back on the trends it sees, the areas under review, and examples of player feedback that contributed to changes.

The Player Feedback Portal returns for FC 27

The Player Feedback Portal will remain open around the clock and will let players submit feedback about a chosen area of the game. EA said it reviewed tens of thousands of responses about nearly every part of FC 26 since the Portal launched last year.

The FC 27 version is still being prepared. EA plans to make it available to Closed Beta participants and launch it alongside the full game. The submission process will work as follows:

  1. Sign in with an EA Account.
  2. Choose the part of the game you want to discuss.
  3. Write detailed feedback.
  4. Submit the response.

Development and community teams will review Portal responses alongside wider community trends. EA may also follow up through Discord or in-game messages when more context is needed.

Discord, Steam, and EA Forums

EA says its Discord server is checked daily by team members and moderators. Players can use #fc-feedback threads for direct feedback and #polls for community polls.

On Steam Community, PC players can report bugs, discuss technical problems, and join conversations about the game. EA also plans to publish a PC-focused Deep Dive in September 2026.

The EA Forums remain organized by topic, giving players room to share detailed reports, examples, videos, and suggestions. Community teams and moderators use those discussions to track recurring issues and keep long-running feedback topics updated.

Design Council playtests already affected FC 27

EA held three hands-on Design Council playtests while developing FC 27:

  • Career in April 2026
  • The Grounds in May 2026
  • Gameplay fundamentals and FUT in May 2026

Players, creators, and other community voices took part in those sessions. EA said feedback from the gameplay fundamentals playtest led directly to changes involving triggered runs and through passes, which the team implemented in time for launch.

More feedback sessions are planned throughout FC 27 so EA can continue collecting input from players with different play styles and priorities.

FC 27 Closed Beta runs through August 25

The EA SPORTS FC™ 27 Closed Beta runs from August 5 through August 25, 2026. It is an invite-only, work-in-progress version of the game, so some features may differ from the final release.

Before August 18, eligible participants will have access to The Grounds, while access to other modes may vary by invitation. Starting August 18, all modes will be available to play.

The announcement also includes a four-tier PC requirements chart covering Minimum, Recommended, High, and Ultra settings.

Players who want a chance to receive an invitation must first sign up through EA Playtesting. EA’s beta playtest help page provides more information about the process.

Participants must be at least 18 years old, have an internet connection and an EA Account, and accept the EA User Agreement, EA Privacy & Cookie Policy, and Pre-release Feedback Agreement.

Closed Beta footage and discussion cannot be posted, streamed, captured, or shared. Breaking those rules can remove a player’s access, block them from future opportunities, lead to content takedowns, and possibly result in a strike on a streaming channel.

Codes are sent to the email address connected to the invited player’s EA Account. They cannot be transferred or shared. The beta is available only in the United States, Canada except Quebec, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. EA advisors cannot provide a code to players who were not selected or troubleshoot problems that occur during the test.

Invited players will also have access to a Closed Beta-specific FC 27 forum, along with the Player Feedback Portal and other in-game surveys. After the beta ends, EA plans to publish a Pitch Notes article covering the feedback themes it received and the updates the development team is investigating.
