EA Sports is preparing a stability patch for Madden NFL 27 on PC, with the update scheduled for the week of August 24. The patch will target performance problems, crashes, and freezes, although the complete notes will not arrive until the update goes live.
In its Steam community update, EA Sports said the team had been monitoring player feedback and crash reports since launch. The preview points to trouble in several parts of the game, from building a player to staying connected during an online match.
What the Madden NFL 27 PC patch will address
The upcoming update will focus on three main areas:
- Creation Center and customization: Stability issues and freezes during player creation, avatar gear customization, and menu navigation.
- Loading and navigation: Freezes on loading screens and during menu transitions.
- Online play and connectivity: Desync issues during online matches and crashes when guest players disconnect.
EA Sports has not shared a version number or a complete list of fixes yet. Those details will be published once the patch is live.
EA recommends updating graphics drivers now
While the patch is being finished, EA Sports is pointing PC players toward their graphics drivers. The company said its crash telemetry connected a large share of active desktop crashes to outdated drivers interacting with high-load sequences.
NVIDIA users can update through GeForce Experience or download the latest drivers from NVIDIA’s official driver page. AMD users can update through AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition or use AMD’s official driver page.
Where to report remaining PC problems
Players who continue to encounter crashes after updating their drivers can send system diagnostic details through EA Help or the official Madden NFL support forums. That information will help EA’s technical team investigate issues that remain after the next patch.
