Dune: Awakening Temporarily Disables Family Sharing In the Middle of a Cheat Crackdown

Dune: Awakening is currently facing a serious cheat problem that has forced the developers to take some tough measures, including temporarily disabling Family Sharing. If you’ve been playing or following the game, you might’ve noticed the recent hotfixes and bans sweeping through the community. Here’s what’s going on behind the scenes.

Reports of cheats and exploits began to pile up, prompting the team to review the data and player feedback. They’ve already pushed multiple hotfixes aimed at closing loopholes that cheaters were abusing. Hundreds of players have been banned, and a major amount of exploited Solaris, basically in-game currency, has been removed. The banhammer is still swinging, and investigations continue.

One controversial move is the temporary suspension of Family Sharing. Apparently, this feature was frequently abused by cheaters, which forced the developers’ hand, despite the inconvenience it caused honest players. No exact timeline has been given for when Family Sharing might return, but the team hopes to have changes in place sometime this year that will allow them to bring it back safely.

Meanwhile, fixes for other cheat-related issues are in development and will be included in upcoming patches. Players are encouraged to continue reporting suspicious activity via the in-game Request Help option to ensure the crackdown remains effective.

It’s a messy situation for sure, but necessary if Dune: Awakening wants to keep its gameplay fair. Do you think disabling Family Sharing is a fair trade-off? Or is it punishing the wrong crowd? Please let me know in the comments below; I’m curious to hear what you all think.
