Dune: Awakening PTC Patch 1.5.15.0 Adds an Option to Launch Without BattlEye
The option covers single-player mode and private or self-hosted servers that do not require BattlEye, while multiplayer servers with the anti-cheat enabled still require it.

Funcom’s Dune: Awakening Public Test Client patch 1.5.15.0 is now available, adding a way to launch without BattlEye for single-player mode and private or self-hosted servers that do not require it, according to the Steam announcement.
BattlEye remains required for multiplayer servers that use it. A client without the anti-cheat will receive an error if it tries to join one. The PTC’s single-player setup was already part of the earlier 1.5.1.0 build.
Testers can use the PTC-only Progression Unlock Panel to access resources, gear, XP, Journey chapters, faction ranks, and crafting materials. The patch also includes several stability improvements, fixes for Story and Journey progression, and a correction for crashes caused by placing a large base with the Base Reconstruction Tool.
One vehicle adjustment lowers the glide-speed penalty for a scout ornithopter carrying a rocket pod module from 20% to 10%. Funcom says that value may change during testing, which will also cover scout and assault ornithopters. The full patch notes include the following highlights.
Dune: Awakening 1.5.15.0 Patch Notes
- Several game and server stability improvements.
- Added the option to launch the game without the BattlEye anti-cheat software installed or enabled for the single-player mode, or private and self-hosted servers that do not require it. BattleEye is still required to play on multiplayer servers with BattleEye enabled. Trying to join a multiplayer server from a client without BattleEye will result in an error.
- Speed reduction while gliding with a scout ornithopter containing a rocket pod module has been reduced from 20% to 10%. This value might not be definitive, we will test and tune it during PTC testing for both the scout and the assault ornithopters.
- Fixed an issue where the game could crash upon using the Base Reconstruction Tool to put down a big base.
- Shielded enemy in the new player experience gives the player more time to Heavy Attack before retaliating.
- Multiple fixes to reported issues regarding Story and player Journey progression.
