Capcom has not explained why Denuvo was removed or confirmed whether another DRM system took its place. An X post from Pirat_Nation names Enigma as a possible replacement and claims large performance gains, but Capcom has not confirmed either point.

Players may associate a Denuvo-free build with possible frame-rate or loading-time improvements, but the removal alone does not prove that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will run better. Clearer technical testing will be needed before the change can be tied to a measurable benefit.
Capcom has scheduled Dark Arisen for Friday, October 9, so the PC release now has a notable technical change shortly before the expansion arrives. The expansion is not the only future addition in view. Capcom has also confirmed work on a tougher endgame mode for capped characters, though it has not announced when that feature will arrive.
Recent updates change more than the DRM setup
Dragon’s Dogma 2 has also received a substantial update covering systems beyond Denuvo. Capcom’s official update notes add equipment filters and favorites to the interface, along with an icon that indicates when an enemy can be grabbed.
Vocation changes affect every job, including a new ability that lets Tricksters float. Chopper enemies received animation improvements and attack-pattern adjustments, while several quests received fixes for problems that kept them from behaving correctly.
For now, the confirmed change is limited to Denuvo leaving the PC version. Whether the new build brings a practical performance difference, or whether another DRM layer is present, will need testing and a statement from Capcom as Dark Arisen approaches.
