Dota 2 to receive small gameplay patches every 2 weeks

It is the big guy himself who tweeted a thing like this. It appears that Valve’s Dota 2 will be receiving new updates every two weeks, for which it will allow Valve to reevaluate the released content. IceFrog, the mastermind behind DOTA, has tweeted that is a lot better option to release new updates on a continuous level.

We want to try taking a different approach to how gameplay patches are released. Instead of big patches a couple of times a year, we'll be releasing small patches every 2 weeks on Thursdays. We'll be trying this out for about six months and then reevaluating.

— IceFrog (@IceFrog) February 1, 2018

Dota 2 has been one of the esports games that have fantastic success. Judging by Steam Stats, the game is still found in the second place after the blockbuster PUBG has managed to take Dota 2’s first place over the past period. So, what IceFrog and Valve aims are to bring much better and balanced content to its players much faster than usual.

The long-awaited updates are going to be over, so the company will aim to release smaller but yet better updates when it comes to balance and bugs. It will also make a free of bugs game for which players may find quite kind in their learning of Dota 2. Everyone needs a set that travels without any interference or obstacles on its way, so this type of updates may severely bring the game to a whole new level.
