Denshattack! opens with a boss fight built around a giant train mecha

Undercoders introduced Yoshie, a Fukuoka influencer who becomes Denshattack!'s first major opponent, ahead of the game's PS5 launch on July 15.

Denshattack! is starting with a boss fight that looks less like a standard opener and more like a full-speed rail war. Undercoders introduced Yoshie, the game’s first boss, and said the PS5 release lands on July 15.

The game’s concept page is live on the PlayStation Store. Denshattack! follows a train-riding trick racer through a colorful future Japan, where players string together kickflips, ollies, grinds, and other moves to score points, clear objectives, and race rivals.

That setting is not just window dressing. The story takes place after a climate disaster has split Japan between the people living under air-purifying domes and everyone else forced into the wastelands outside. Emi, a ramen delivery girl, ends up pulled into the underground Denshattack scene and works her way from Kyushu to Hokkaido while learning new techniques and taking on local gang leaders.

Yoshie sits at the center of the first big showdown. She is a wildly popular influencer from Fukuoka, and her train can transform into a giant mecha, which turns the fight into a multi-phase battle where players have to swap rails, avoid heavy hits, and look for openings to counterattack. The studio says the encounter is meant to put everything learned in the opening chapter to work right away.

The art direction pushes hard into bright gyaru style, and the boss theme matches that energy too. Yoshie’s fight music comes from composer Sean Bialo, Vocaloid producer Yunosuke, and singer Alice Peralta.

If Denshattack! keeps this level of style in every boss encounter, July 15 should be a loud one. Tell us what you think in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
