DDoS Attacks Disrupted Gears of War: E-Day Online Services

The Coalition said players encountered disconnects and login trouble as its teams monitored and mitigated the attacks.

DDoS attacks disrupted Gears of War: E-Day’s online services on October 12, causing some players to experience intermittent disconnects, login issues, and other service problems. The Coalition said its teams were continuing to monitor and mitigate the activity, with further updates planned if there were significant changes.

A distributed denial-of-service attack floods an online service with traffic from multiple sources, which can crowd out legitimate connections and interrupt access for players.

If the connection problems affected your E-Day sessions, share what happened in the comments. For more on the game’s online service status, follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
