Crimson Moon Will Reach PS5 on September 1 With Two-Player Co-Op

The $19.99 Standard Edition and $29.99 Deluxe Edition will launch with the latter offering extra gear and access to a post-launch expansion.

Crimson Moon will arrive on PlayStation 5 on September 1, 2026, bringing its gothic high renaissance action RPG to players with support for two-player online co-op. The release date and co-op details were confirmed in a PlayStation Blog announcement.

The game casts players as a Nephilim, a warrior who is half-human and half-angel. The Nephilim was created to defend humanity from Hell, and their mission is to reclaim Gildenarch, a fallen city being consumed by demonic corruption.

Crimson Moon’s combat combines supernatural abilities, weapons, and close-range attacks against demons, undead creatures, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations. Its replayable runs feature changing enemy hordes and dangerous boss battles. The upcoming release will also let players tackle those hunts with another person online.

Two players, one shared life pool

Every hunt can be played alone or with one online partner. Encounters adjust to the size of the party, so bringing a second player will not simply turn each fight into a damage race.

Both hunters will rely on the same pool of lives during a hunt. When one player falls, their partner can bring them back into the fight, but every death leaves the team closer to defeat.

Co-op partners can coordinate Weapon Arts, try different builds, and work together against the game’s larger bosses. A well-timed rescue could save a hunt, while one careless mistake may end it just as the fight reaches its final phase.

Crimson Moon is built for PS5

The PlayStation 5 version will include native support for upgraded PSSR on PlayStation 5 Pro. The feature will help produce a sharper image while players move through Gildenarch and battle the creatures inside it.

Two editions will be available

The Standard Edition will cost $19.99, while the Deluxe Edition will cost $29.99. The higher-priced edition will include the Ceremonial Armor Set, the Axe of the Gods, and access to the upcoming Post-Launch Content Expansion. The axe has a guitar-inspired design that suits the game’s larger-than-life Nephilim.

Standard Edition players will also be able to upgrade later for $10 through the Crimson Moon: Deluxe Edition Upgrade. That purchase will provide access to the Deluxe Edition content.

All PlayStation players will receive the exclusive Sonai Magistrate Armor Set at launch, regardless of which edition they choose.

The journey will begin in Sanctus Clypeus before leading toward a final confrontation with the legendary Dead Gods. Hunts will also take players into Gildenarch’s increasingly dangerous Wards as they search for stronger gear and experiment with new builds.
