Arknights: Endfield Gives PS5 Pro Players a Sharper View of Talos-II

Version 1.4 will add upgraded PSSR alongside new regions, operators, modes, and Half-Anniversary rewards on July 16.

Arknights: Endfield will receive upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution support on PS5 Pro when Version 1.4 arrives on July 16. The update will improve image clarity and temporal stability while helping the game maintain smoother performance at 4K resolution.

The PlayStation Blog announcement also details the wider Companionship Celebration: Homecoming update, which includes a major story continuation, new areas, operators, challenge modes, and Half-Anniversary rewards.

Sharper operators and steadier detail

With the upgraded PSSR enabled, character outfits should retain more fine detail across exploration, combat, and story scenes. Layered fabrics, costume materials, and surface textures will appear clearer, giving Endfield’s stylized operators a cleaner presentation on PS5 Pro.

The visual upgrade also applies to the game’s environments. Vegetation, industrial facilities, and wildlife are designed to hold onto sharper detail as players move through Endfield’s maps.

Fast movement is another focus. The updated reconstruction should reduce visible instability during motion, while the PS5 Pro version will more consistently balance higher frame rates with 4K output.

Hypergryph CTO David Gu said the PSSR integration required little engineering work and improved image clarity across a broad range of gameplay situations. He added that the upgrade helps preserve smooth exploration and combat while presenting more detail across Talos-II, as described in the PlayStation Blog announcement.

Version 1.4 adds new zones, operators, and modes

Version 1.4 will continue the main story with Chapter 3: Acts 1 and 2 as the Wuling storyline reaches its conclusion. Players will visit two new regions, Yinglung Pass and the North Wuling Exclusion Zone, each built around its own environmental mechanics. Both areas will lead to a confrontation with the new boss Alleikhreos.

The update will also expand the roster with Arcane and Liino. Arcane is a Nature Caster focused on Corrosion and crowd control, while Liino is an Electric Supporter with healing and amplification abilities.

Several new activities are coming with the update. Echoes of War will be a permanent seasonal challenge mode with exclusive titles. The Rooted Realm will add a roguelike mode with stages that unlock over time and its own rewards. The limited-time Heat Rage! Mega Arena! will support two-player co-op, with each team limited to two deployed operators.

Version 1.4 will also add a Gas production chain to the AIC Factory, along with Story Skip for new players, Birthday rewards, Talosite collectibles, and an upgraded Photo Mode with adjustable poses.

The Half-Anniversary celebration will include a free 6★ weapon, Oroberyl, recruitment permits, limited-time events, and several sign-in campaigns. The upgraded PSSR will become available on PS5 Pro when Version 1.4 launches on July 16.
