Patch Notes

Blizzard’s May 8 Midnight hotfixes tidy up Monk healing, raid skips, and quest blockers

The 12.0.5 hotfix batch also fixes Abyss Anglers' Depth Grease achievement, Magisters Terrace, Nexus-Point Xenas, The Voidspire, and a Spellbook bug tied to Wings of the Void.

Blizzard’s May 8 Midnight hotfix pass keeps trimming rough edges in World of Warcraft, with fixes that land across class tools, dungeon bosses, raid travel, quests, and the Abyss Anglers achievement track. It is a smaller tuning batch than a full patch, but it still closes a handful of bugs that could interrupt runs or block progress.

The update also follows a string of recent Midnight cleanup passes. If you want another example, a recent hotfix roundup covered dungeon, raid, and Hunter adjustments as well.

Midnight 12.0.5 Hotfixes for May 8

Here is the full list of fixes:

Abyss Anglers

  • Resolved an issue in Abyss Anglers where some players weren’t able to complete the Achievement Depth Grease, even if they had met the correct conditions.

Classes

  • Monk
    • Mistweaver
      • Fixed an issue that caused Rushing Wind Kick’s heal to sometimes fail.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Magisters Terrace
    • Fixed an issue where sometimes Gemellus would fail to resume using abilities if a player died during Astral Grasp.
  • Nexus-Point Xenas
    • Fixed an issue causing Mana Batteries to appear as a neutral faction while casting Corespark Overload.
  • The Voidspire
    • Using the raid skip no longer causes players to automatically teleport when returning to the entrance.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue that prevented repeat play of “The Story of the Cauldron of Echoes”.
  • Resolved an issue where players could be blocked from accepting “Rescue in the Shadows” if they had completed “Crypt in the Mist” during the Zul’Aman campaign.

User Interface

  • Fixed a bug causing Wings of the Void to unintentionally appear in the Spellbook.

These fixes should make a few key Midnight activities feel less fiddly, especially for players working through dungeon and raid content or cleaning up quest progress. Tell us what you think in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
