ARC Raiders turns a string of nominations into a real Game of the Year win
The Nordic Game Awards 2026 gave Embark Studios' shooter its first GOTY honor, along with Best Audio and Best Technology.
ARC Raiders finally has a Game of the Year win to point to. At the Nordic Game Awards 2026, Embark Studios’ extraction shooter took home Nordic Game of the Year, along with Best Audio and Best Technology.
The game had already collected several awards since release and had been in the Game of the Year conversation at BAFTA, DICE, and The Game Awards, but those ceremonies did not give it the top prize. This Nordic win gives Embark a fresh piece of recognition for a game that has spent months drawing attention for its multiplayer systems.
Other winners included Split Fiction for Best Game Design, The Midnight Walk for Best Art, LEGO Voyagers for Best Fun for Everyone, and Discounty for Best Debut.
The Nordic Game Awards are held every spring and spotlight games from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, along with the developers and publishers behind them. This year, studios from Sweden picked up the most honors.
That win also lands as Embark is lining up the next ARC Raiders roadmap update, which the studio has said is coming very shortly.
