Embark started testing Denuvo anti-cheat in Arc Raiders on May 19, opening the kernel-level system to a limited group of players first. If the trial behaves, the rollout will widen from there.
A May 7 developer post called Ensuring Fair Play said the studio wants to combine machine-learning tools with kernel-level protections such as Easy Anti-Cheat and Denuvo. This setup also leaves out Denuvo DRM, so the anti-cheat push does not bring the extra copy protection layer that many PC players dislike.
The move lands after a rough stretch of cheating complaints around the Riven Tides update. If the new protection adds any overhead, players can still tune their Arc Raiders settings to get a little more breathing room.
