Apex Legends gets a fresh PC hotfix for the Split 2 FPS problem
The July 2 update targets hardware-specific performance problems on some PCs and follows earlier Split 2 launch troubleshooting.

Respawn pushed a fresh Apex Legends update on July 2, 2026, with the focus squarely on the lingering PC frame-rate problem that had shown up for some players since the split began. The studio had already been tracking the issue in Split 2 launch issues, and this pass is meant to smooth things out for affected machines.
Patch Notes
The update is brief, but it targets one of the more annoying problems Apex Legends players on PC have been dealing with during the split.
- FIXED: We just pushed a fix that should mitigate lingering FPS issues resulting from hardware-specific issues on some PCs since the beginning of the split. Your gameplay experience should be much smoother now.
