Hotfix Reverted: Fortnite Releases Hotfix to Resolve Crashing Issue on Xbox Series S with 120 FPS and Splitscreen

Update: This Hotfix has been already reverted back since it’s been causing broken geometry and textures. A proper fix for the 120 FPS and Splitscreen on Xbox Series S will be available with the next game update.

Epic Games, the developer of the popular battle royale game Fortnite, has released a hotfix to address a crashing issue that affected Xbox Series S players using 120 FPS or playing in splitscreen mode. The issue was resolved with the latest update, as announced by the developer on Twitter.

The tweet from the developer reads:

“With today’s hotfix, this issue is resolved and playing Xbox Series S with 120 FPS or in Splitscreen is no longer causing a crash. We’ll continue to monitor this to ensure stability has improved.”

Before the hotfix was implemented, players were experiencing crashes while using the aforementioned settings on their Xbox Series S consoles. FortniteStatus, the official Twitter account for Fortnite updates, had previously confirmed the issue and advised players to disable these settings until a fix was available.

Now that the hotfix has been deployed, players can enjoy the full benefits of the Xbox Series S hardware, including high frame rates and Splitscreen gameplay. The developers at Epic Games will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that stability has been fully restored for all players.
