Escape From Tarkov had a long play cycle, and like every other before, eventually, it has to come to an end. This occasion usually concludes with a complete game wipe, deleting everyone’s accounts, and starting anew. On Monday, the COO of Battlestate Games, Nikita, asked if you are ready for wipe, which could indicate such action is coming throughout the course of this week.

Previously, during the latest TarkovTV broadcast, Nikita also confirmed that there will be a wipe coming with the next major patch. Today, he stiffened and publicly alluded to such an upcoming activity, which could be related to yet another “Thursday” wipe. Below you can find Nikita’s tweet:

This wipe will introduce us to the Lighthouse expansion, including new weapons, features, the long-awaited in-game trader “Lightkeeper” and other bits and pieces that will be vital to the game. Conditions that are supposed to change the game as a whole and how it will play out in the future.
For those confused on what a wipe means: A wipe means that the whole database is reset, and the players have to start a new cycle. No progress carries over, which means everything you had is flopped and done with. The only thing you have is the starter packs (based on the game edition) that include a couple of guns, meds, and ammunition. If we compare it to other multiplayer games that have currency and balance of similar matter, none of them have finished well in the long-term, simply because it gets caught by inflation, and the economy is more likely to be destroyed.
