V1 Interactive is closing down for good

V1 Interactive was a game studio founded by the Halo universe co-creator, located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. However, today the studio announced on Twitter that it’s shutting down because it couldn’t find a lot of success in the market. Letho, the founder of the studio, also added that the decision was made now so that employees “have ample time to search for new jobs” while the company is sunsetted.

The studio’s only game, Disintegration, is a first-person shooter developed by V1 Interactive and published by Private Division. The game also features elements from the real-time strategy genre. It was released in June 2020 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Disintegration had only been out for a few months when developer V1 Interactive removed its multiplayer modes, saying that they failed to attract “a significant audience” despite some interest in the single-player campaign. The game is still available on Steam for $30, but it’s not very popular, maintaining a 6/10 score with Mixed Reviews.
