A Fortnite Inventory Trick May Help Level the Crown Sprite

The setup pairs the Adventurer Sprite with a nearly empty inventory, though it is still unclear whether the interaction is intentional.

A Fortnite community tip may give Crown Sprite hunters a less painful way to build levels: equip the Adventurer Sprite, then leave the Crown Sprite as the only other item available for its random upgrade effect. A player shared the setup in a Reddit post, while noting that it is unclear whether the interaction is a glitch or intended behavior.

When the Adventurer Sprite levels up, it reportedly upgrades a random item in the inventory. If the Crown Sprite is the only possible target, each Adventurer upgrade should also give the Crown Sprite a level. That could save players from trying to string together multiple Victory Royales.

How to set up the Crown Sprite trick

  1. Equip the Adventurer Sprite before starting the match.
  2. Keep the Crown Sprite as the only item in the upgrade pool. The tip recommends carrying almost no weapons so the Adventurer has fewer items to choose from.
  3. Find an Adventurer Sprite in the match.
  4. Trigger its level-ups and check whether the Crown Sprite gains progress at the same time.

Keeping the inventory this empty comes with a tradeoff. Players may need to rely on chest openings instead of immediately grabbing every weapon they find, since adding more items can give the Adventurer additional targets for its random upgrade.

The Crown Sprite’s usual progression is tied to Victory Royales, with wins earned while holding a crown providing double credit, according to the details from Fortnite’s Crown Sprite reward screen. The Adventurer setup could provide another route for players who would rather work on Sprite progress while looting and surviving instead of chasing win after win.

Is the Adventurer interaction intentional?

There is no clear answer yet. The community tip only identifies the behavior and does not confirm whether Epic Games designed the Adventurer Sprite to upgrade the Crown Sprite this way. It may also stop working if the interaction is changed or if another item remains in the relevant inventory pool, so players should treat it as a useful trick rather than a guaranteed feature.
