Icarus Week 246 Adds a Metal Weapon Rack and Teases the Newton Patch
The update also raises grenade stacks to 10, fixes several rack display transforms, and previews an Elysium Great Hunt.

Icarus Week 246 gives prospectors a sturdier way to show off their favorite tools with the new Tier 3 Metal Weapon Rack. RocketWerkz also used the update to share details about a studio power outage, preview the upcoming Newton patch, and tease eight new Slinker saddle options.
The full breakdown appears in RocketWerkz’s Week 246 Steam announcement. Alongside the new decoration, the patch includes fixes for Chocolate Cake, the Dry Run mission drill, audio performance, the Server Browser, and several client-side building issues.
A tougher display for weapons
The Metal Weapon Rack is a Tier 3 item crafted at the Machining Bench. Its aluminum-pipe-and-screw construction makes it more durable than the Tier 2 Wooden Weapon Rack introduced with Homestead, while its lack of flammability gives players another reason to use it in a battle-ready base.
Several weapons and tools also received display fixes, including the Mining Laser, Jackhammer, Nailgun, shovels, launchers, and shears. The changes correct how those items sit on the racks, so the collection on your wall should look a little less like it was installed by a raccoon with a wrench.

Week 246 also cleans up missions and audio
Grenades now stack to 10 in preparation for the launcher content planned for Newton. The Server Browser displays the game version and uses cleaner alignment for its lists, headers, and filters.
Dry Run received a fix for the mission drill’s electricity state, which could stop updating after a reconnect and leave the operation stuck. Chocolate Cake can also be deployed again, with its pieces available to collect and eat normally.
RocketWerkz made several audio performance passes covering rain, hail, longer sound effects, and biome ambience. The update also addresses client-side problems involving building cleanup and corpses whose inventories were missing.
Newton prepares the next Elysium Great Hunt
The next major content beat is a new Great Hunt on Elysium. It will be available to owners of the Great Hunts Campaigns DLC, while the accompanying Newton patch will add free content for everyone.
Newton will introduce a Tier 4 multi-barrel launcher with more ammunition capacity than the existing single-shot launcher. The new weapon follows the launcher work covered in our earlier Icarus launcher coverage.

Radioactive creatures will receive their own vestiges and trophies. Players will be able to collect a vestige from a creature and assemble the corresponding trophy at the Trophy Bench using the usual crafting process.

A new achievement set will accompany the Great Hunt, with objectives tied to the hunt, new equipment, and launch events. Newton remains in internal testing and has entered a closed external test, but RocketWerkz has not announced a release date.
Eight Slinker saddles are next
The next weekly update will give the Slinker eight new saddle options. The additions will let players customize the look of their favorite mount, with the new choices scheduled for the following week rather than included in Week 246.
Power outage temporarily closed the studio
RocketWerkz also explained why development work was affected over the weekend. During the studio livestream on Friday, August 14, the office lost internet access and several workstations lost power after breakers on the server room’s three-phase circuits tripped.
The team sent everyone home while waiting for an electrician. When the external breaker was eventually reset, a spark triggered a wire fire beneath the server room’s electrical box. The electrician replaced the cables and removed metal shavings, known as swarf, from the box. The studio’s servers and production services came back online without corruption to the Perforce database.
