Players continue to complain about Rockstar Launcher interference, bugs, rough art, broken cinematics, and performance dips in Grand Theft Auto III’s PC edition. Other criticism targets the original game’s older, rawer open-world design, a separate issue from the Trilogy’s technical problems.
The Definitive Edition Trilogy faced criticism at launch for its graphics and performance, and many of those issues have been patched over the years. Grand Theft Auto III’s lower ratings stand out against its bundle mates, with complaints about both the port and the original game’s design contributing to its weaker reception.
