Company of Heroes 3‘s Final Stand mode will gain co-op for up to 3 players when Update 3.0 arrives on Nov. 5, according to Relic’s Update 3.0 Mission Briefing.
Enemy events will scale in magnitude with the number of co-op players. The update will also add a new battleground, unit unlocks, passive technologies and abilities, alongside buffs for players and new enemy tricks.
Across the wider game, 3.0 will introduce winter, autumn and industrial environments, along with snow, rain and terrain that shifts between dry and wet conditions. Improvements to soldier lighting, fog, smoke and other environmental effects are also planned.
Four new maps will join the rotation across 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4. The update will also refresh Langres Winter for 1v1, Mignano Summit Winter for 3v3 and Rapido River Crossing for 4v4.
The campaign pass includes clearer lighting on the Italian campaign map, with less visual clutter around farmland and roads and better visibility for landmarks such as cities, hospitals and ports. Mission lighting and atmosphere will also be revisited, and some of the campaign map’s more costly sections will be optimized.
Battle audio will receive updated weapon, impact, explosion and vehicle-destruction sounds. The music selection will also expand with tracks from Company of Heroes and Company of Heroes 2. A new cosmetics Ultimate Set, featuring themed items for the US Forces, Wehrmacht, British Forces, Deutsches Afrikakorps and Victory Point, will be available for purchase with the update’s release.
