Bend Studio’s Next Game Is Reportedly a Third-Person Co-Op Game for 2027
Anonymous-source reporting describes a third-person co-op shooter outside the Days Gone universe, with a possible 2027 reveal and release.

Bend Studio’s next game is described as an unannounced third-person co-op shooter, with a possible reveal and release in 2027. The MP1ST report, citing anonymous sources familiar with the studio’s work, says development is far enough along for a launch in the same year to be possible. Bend has not confirmed the game’s details or timing. The project is described as neither a live-service game nor set in the Days Gone universe.
The codename is less clear. MP1ST identifies the upcoming project as Mirror Pond, while DualShockers describes Mirror Pond as the codename of a canceled Bend live-service game. Sony also canceled a Bend live-service project in early 2025, as covered by Push Square. The supplied accounts do not settle how the codename relates to the upcoming non-live-service game.
Reports also say Sony rejected a pitch for a Days Gone sequel. The new game is described as outside that series’ universe, but its status as a new IP remains unconfirmed.
Bend’s earlier work on a new IP provides some context. PlayStation Studios head Herman Hulst publicly confirmed in 2021 that the studio was working on a new IP, as covered at the time. That confirmation does not establish whether the project is the same game now described by anonymous sources.
